Inspection

From the log to the graded sheet

Grades are only useful if every batch is read the same way. The mill publishes its tolerances and checks each order against them.

Incoming logs, slicing, grade checks and warehouse release use the same published notes as the factory page. No grade inflation — exactly what you order, every batch.

Checkpoints

Five checks before a bundle ships

Each check sits at the point in the line where a problem can still be caught — not at the end, when the sheet is already bundled.

  • Incoming log check

Each incoming log is checked against its species and origin paperwork before it is sawn.

  • Hourly thickness monitoring

Thickness is checked every hour against the ordered thickness and the published tolerance.

  • Sheet-by-sheet visual grading

Each sheet is checked for knots, colour variation and grain uniformity against the published AA, A and B grade cards.

  • Moisture content test

Sheet moisture content is tested before the batch is released for packing.

  • Final packaging audit

Sheet size, flatness and bundle tags are checked before dispatch. Export orders use ISPM 15 compliant packaging.
